Sod & Grass Options

How to choose the best grass for your Atlanta yard.

We work with several local sod farms across the Atlanta area to source the best options for your yard’s sunlight, soil, and traffic conditions. Here’s an overview of the varieties we install most often:

Zenith / Meyer Zoysia4+ hrsMost affordable zoysia varieties; thicker grass blades
Tif Way Bermuda6–8 hrs (full sun)Fast-growing and self-repairing in bare spots
Celebration Bermuda6+ hrsRich color, good drought tolerance
Discovery Bermuda5+ hrsSlightly more shade tolerant than other Bermuda varieties

Zoysia Maintenance

Once established, keep a regular watering and mowing schedule. Recommended mowing height is ½–1½ inches. We recommend a soil test through your county extension agent to guide fertilizer choice — avoid nitrogen fertilizers until soil temperature at a 4-inch depth reaches 65°F and is rising.
